- Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari: Based in Goregaon East, the studio is legendary. The Filmcity has a valuable 30% share of the films and television shows made in Mumbai. On getting the thumbs up from the iconic filmmakers like Late Shri V. Shantaram, and Late Shri B.R. Chopra, the film city came up in honor of the founder of Indian film industry, Dadasaheb Phalke. The studio has been set for many memorable films like Kal Ho Na Ho, Devdas, Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam, Om Shanti Om, television shows like Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma and Comedy Nights with Kapil and the cult epic serial of Mahabharata.
- RK Film Studios: This studio is famous for its legacy and of course, for the memorable movies it has given. The studio is no longer producing films, but it has a reputation of producing cult movies. Though the first movie that RK Films had produced was “Aag” but it was with “Barsaat” that the studios became very famous. Films like Awaara, Shree 420, Mera Naam Joker and then Bobby, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, and Ram Terii Ganga Maili too added feathers to the studios. Even now, the sets in these movies are preserved in the gallery.
- Mehboob Studios: This is another famous studio in the posh Bandra West suburbs of Mumbai. Superstar Dev Anand had shot many of his blockbusters like Hum Dono, Guide, and Johnny Mera Naam, in this film studio set. The maverick filmmaker Guru Dutt also preferred to make movies here and his classic Kaagaz ke Phool was shot here. Veteran director Mehboob Khan set this studio here in 1954. His actual big success was not until the classic Mother India, which came out in 1957. The studio featured in few songs and films like Khaike Paan Benaraswallah. The studio had set for shooting recent films like Housefull 2, Dabangg, and Chennai Express.

Today, there are film studios of Ramoji Film city, Big ND Studio, Yash Raj Film Studios, Balaji Telefilms and even the Whistling Woods Studios, these three studios carry major respect and pride for their immense contribution to the Hindi film industry.
